Company Profile
EJ Hendley Consultants LLC was founded in 2005 by Elleanor Jean Hendley, an Emmy Award-winning former CBS3 TV eyewitness news education reporter, talk show producer/host, and director of public affairs. Hendley is also a former New Jersey public school teacher who created an award-winning After School dance program.
Our consultants have served as superintendents, public and private school principals and administrators, teachers, and held university-level teaching and administrative positions. Each member has been involved with the special developmental and educational needs of adolescent girls, both in their careers and as volunteers.
We have empowered hundreds of girls in more than a dozen public and charter schools in the School District of Philadelphia and Delaware County, PA, as well as community-based organizations.
Girls Achieve®, the signature program of EJ Hendley Consultants LLC, provides a school day series of life skills and experiential workshops, cultural enrichment, education enhancement, and mentoring to empower at-risk girls primarily in middle school grades.
Girls Achieve is based on the model of Teenshop, Inc., the nationally-recognized nonprofit weekend college and careers program for adolescent girls founded in 1985. Teenshop has four chapters in Philadelphia, PA and Los Angeles, CA, and while enrolled, no girl drops out of school or becomes a teen parent, and all graduates attend college or professional schools. |
